Last Minute advice for O’level Students
Here’s the scoop… O’ level’s graded using a “bell curve” normal distribution:

With “B3”s being the highest frequency, this means that Most students get a “B3” with little effort/preparation. This is evident from most English exams, where a majority of students get that grade.
So, an average student will get 6 x B3 = 18 Points for L1B5… not very appealing?
At this point of time, your best bet would be to Focus on your strong subjects and spend additional time ensuring Zero mistakes for that subject, giving you an “A1”
Personally, I would recommend spending 2/3 of your time refining your best 3 subjects and remaining 1/3 for your other subjects (non-A1s).
For your weaker subjects, aim to get at least a “B3”, for each of them!
A “B3” is VERY simple! Know the basic concepts WELL (you can do this by practicing TYS; remember the 1:2 rule?)
For “A1”s, you must be a Master (rabbi) in that subject.
For example, a good way to get <> 3 “A1”s I know had “A1”s for these 3 subjects.
Tip: SPAM PRACTICE PAPERS until you can do them with your eyes closed (Disclaimer: For Math/Sci only)! @_@
Do 20 – 40 papers from now till O’levels.
Quantitative subjects are the easiest to get “A1”
Your other 3 would be:
English
Mother Tongue
1 Humanities (Compulsory)
For English and Mother Tongue there’s little you can do at this point of time but thankfully it’s EASY to get “B3”s for these subjects (But Hard to get “A1”s).
Other “hard-to-score” subjects include: Any Writing-based papers (too subjective)
So therefore, 3 x B3 + 3 x A1 = 12 points!
If you’re more prepared, try to get your “B3”s up to A2/1 standard.
E.g. 3 x A2 + 3 x A1 = 9 points!
Tip: Get at least 4 x “A1”s if you’re gunning for NJC and above.
That’s all… All the BEST for your O’s! God Bless! =) =) =)
