Best Job in the World
Anyway, today i'm going to bring everyone an article talking about the best job in the world. This news article came out last week and the job featured has grabbed the attention of so many across the world. So what exactly is so special about this job? Let’s find out....
The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (105,000 US dollars) and includes free airfares from the winner's home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland's state government announced on Tuesday
In return, the "island caretaker" will be expected to stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of "a few minor tasks" -- and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates.
The successful applicant, who will stay rent-free in a three-bedroom beach home complete with plunge pool and golf buggy, must be a good swimmer, excellent communicator and be able to speak and write English.
"They'll also have to talk to media from time to time about what they're doing so they can't be too shy and they'll have to love the sea, the sun, the outdoors," said acting state Premier Paul Lucas.
"The fact that they will be paid to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, swim, snorkel and generally live the Queensland lifestyle makes this undoubtedly the best job in the world."
Lucas said the campaign was part of a drive to protect the state's 18 billion Australian dollar a year tourism industry during the tough economic climate caused by the global financial meltdown.
"Traditional tourism advertising just doesn't cut it sometimes and we are thinking outside the box by launching this campaign."
Queensland Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said some people might question whether it was risky to let an unknown person become an unofficial tourism spokesperson for the state.
"I think the biggest risk will be that the successful candidate won't want to go home at the end of the six months," she said.
"This is a legitimate job which is open to anyone and everyone."
Applications are open until February 22. Eleven shortlisted candidates will be flown to Hamilton Island in early May for the final selection process and the six month contract will commence on July 1.
Editor's note: Sounds like fantasy eh? Who wouldn't want a dream job like that?? Just laze around on an island and get a few thousand dollars out of it. Haha, so good! From what i heard, a few thousand people have visited the website (i have deleted the link to the site, in case any1 of you try to be funny...) to apply for the job and what do u kw? The website crashed, haha. It’s crazy but true.
This just goes to show you how many desperate people there are in the world who desires to get rich, WITHOUT TRYING TO WORK HARD. As far as this job goes, it does sound interesting but i wonder if there are any hidden clauses attached, hmm....... Let’s see how it goes when some1 actually gets the job.
In the meantime, this is Qm signing off from another article on Wacky 4 Oh 6 News! XD
Study Hours
as you all I know, Eugene and I will be collecting study hours(yay!), and there's some things you gotta know:
2) What can be considered as study hours?
- Homework (Art assignments included)
- Reading Books, Newspaper (Comics not included)
- Self-study
- Projects
- Anything outside of school curriculum
3) What is NOT considered as study hours?
- Read a book for 5 mins, sleep for the next 55mins
- Watching "Educational" YouTube videos
- Studying and playing DotA concurrently
4) When are we collecting study hours? (Important!)
To save you the trouble of trying to recall how much you have studied every week, we will be collecting study hours every Wednesday and Saturday.
Wednesday: hours spent studying from Sunday to Wednesdays (4 days)
Saturday: hours spent studying from Thursday to Saturday (3 days)
Example:

5) How long should we study?
- Polytechnic students: 10 hours per normal week, 15 hours per near exam week
- Secondary students: 15 hours per normal week, 20 hours per near exam week
Use these guidelines to help you maintain a constant studying habit. =D
6) What if I don't fulfill the study hours?
Members who constantly do not fulfill the study hours will be banned from coming to CG meeting until they start fulfilling the study hours. (Can't imagine myself being banned from CG and playing guitar at home by myself)
7) What should I do?
a) Set clear goals
The bible says in Hab 2:2, "WRITE THE VISION and make it PLAIN on tablets, that he may run who reads it"
Tell yourself something like: "I'm going to get a B3 for english, A1 for maths, A1 for chemistry, etc. etc. for the glory of God!"
Of course everyone has his/her own targets. Maybe getting a pass for a certain subject would take a miracle from heaven-I mean a great breakthrough. Let your goals be according to your ability.
b) Start studying today!
It is never too late to start, especially for all the O'Levelers! I genuinely believe that all of you will do greater things, like scoring a single digit for your L1R5. This is because I have faith in you, and also because I only started studying when it was Prelims, and you guys are starting now! :X
c) Depend on God for strength (this is starting to feel like a sermon)
We can do great things by ourselves, but we will only do our very best together with God. Weiren and all the heroes of faith are our examples yea? God really wants you to get good grades and He will be pleased when you rely on His strength, wisdom and anointing.
"For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jer 29:11
So that will be all. As the Study Hour IC, Eugene will be your shining example. (Why not me? Cos I'll be finishing school in 2 weeks XD). I trust that all of you will be honest in giving accurate study hours because liars don't go to heav-I mean because we are children of God yea?
God bless you all and may 2009 be your greatest year yet!

Song introduction~ David Archuleta: A Little Too Not Over You
Anyway, here's something light to share with all of you. Its an english song sung by David Archuleta. In case, you all don't know....he's the runner up of america idol season 7 and the singer of the smash hit "Crush." Well, here's his latest single and its titled "A Little Too Not Over You."
Here is the link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCP_8zzqyK0
Hope you guys will love it XD
Editor's recommendation: Yet another great song by David Archuleta. Man, i think he has a knack of bringing out the best in songs. Who says u have 2 win American Idol in order to excel in the music industry?
Its not like any other heartwarming songs i've heard b4. His style is completely fresh and though it might not be as good as "Crush", i believe this song has what it takes to be another smash hit. For that, i give this song 3 stars out of 5 =D

A poem called Honour
displays the truth inside,
We live in grace as fully whole,
with-holding naught in pride!
The loving friend who is our joy,
quite easy it is to bless,
The hated foes we'd quick destroy,
or speak some great redress!
Yet if we only lift the name,
of those we always love,
No higher metal can we claim,
than makes those we'd reprove!
If I give honor, when it's due,
to those who's view of life...
Is diff'rent from the one held true...
within...(which leads to strife,)
Then honor is the very thread,
that's woven through my heart,
And honor is my nightly bed,
the trait that fills each part!
The fabric will begin to show,
when tested by the worst,
That comes against us when we grow,
removing ev'ry boast!
For honor shows the best in me,
when everything seems dark,
This honor shines for all to see,
real hope it will impart!
by Jay O'Toole
Okok, jokes aside. Honour is something we give, not because we have to, but we want to. Thats quite closely related to love and affection isn't it? The term that i can associate honour with, would be the word "respect." I mean, we give honour to people because we respect them. You might think "but that's mainly applicable for people who are of higher authority than us isnt it?"
Haha but frens, how many of us know that we do pay attention or compliment our friends? This is regardless to what how much younger they may seem to us. The only prob is that we don't do it often...as a result, sometimes we can take this issue of honour lightly. The poem certainly justifies what we have learnt this past week.A simple concept, yet it goes a million miles into developing one's character.
So why don't you start by really honouring somebody today? I don't know about you but i'm determined to put what i've learnt into good use. I pray that Godly honour will be upon your lives. Such that even if you have to honour someone you don't really like, His comfort and peace shall be be upon you and make you a better person in the end. Cheers! Qm

Sermon Outline- John bevere services
Oh boy! How wrong was that. Haha
He then started to go more in depth towards the verse. By emphasising this verse to us again, I could tell how important it was to him that we got the message right. He gave us the hard truth about God's word concerning rewards and honour. By using biblical examples, he wanted to show us instances in the bible, when people either received no reward, a partial reward or a full reward from God.
Mark 6:5 (no reward as Jesus was restrained)
Mark 6:3-4 (reason why Jesus was restrained)
Luke 5 ( no reward for the sick pharisees and teachers present in the meeting with Jesus)
Dr John then concluded these examples and told us the common reason why the people in the above verses received no reward from God. The reason is that the people gave Him No honour!!!)
Isa 29:13
Dr John then gave us some positive examples from the bible, where people received the full reward from God when they:
1) gave God the honour He deserved
2) they touched Him with their faith
Here are the following verses Dr John used in his sermon, to illustrate the point about honouring God.
Luke 13:35
John 13:20
1 Sam 2:30
However, he soon goes on to say that we should honour people around us as well. This includes people who might be cruel or bad to you. This is taught in the Sermon of the Mount, the Beatitudes. Jesus says that in Matt 5:46- If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? (new international version)
Matt 10:40-42
Dr John then goes on to say in that verse, that Jesus identifies the three levels of human beings we come in contact with:
1) Those who have authority over us- "prophet"
2) Those who are of equal authority as us- "righteous man"
3) Those whom we are entrusted with, under our care- "little ones"
Dr John wanted to get us to understand the significance of honouring people. This is because he told us that all authority is actually from God and not from men. He even gave us a helpful tip towards dealing with people may seem disregarding towards you. He told us to look beyond that man/woman and look towards God who is actually behind that person :)
Lastly, he wrapped up the sermon by sharing on four areas of delegated authority.
1)Civil authority (which also means public authority) - Romans 13:3-4, 1 Peter 2:17
2)Family authority - Eph 6:2-3,Deu 27:16
3)Social suthority - 1 Tim 6:1
4)Church authority - 1 The 5:12, 1 Tim 5:17-18
Sermon Outline- John bevere services
I'll do the sat service 1st, then i'll do the sun service later...
-Sat Sevice (verses in blue)
Rev. John Bevere started his sermon by quoting the verse: 2 John 8. The verse tells us to examine ourselves, that we do not lose the things which we have worked hard for. More importantly, the verse tells us at the end of it all, that we may receive a FULL reward.
That set the tone for the Word, which i believe was regarding the calling of God on our lives. (do correct me if i'm wrong)
Anyway, here are the various verses he spoke of in that sermon. ( I trust that you have the decency 2 check these verses out for yourselves =D )
2 Cor 5:8-10
Heb 6:2
James 4:14
Dr John then spoke about what we believers will be judged on, after out time on earth has ended. 1) How we are involved in building the kingdom of God. 2) How we build the lives of individuals around us
1 Cor 3:10-15 (judgement seat of Christ)
Dr John then illustrated an example on how his family had an opportunity to build a custom home once. He used that example to illustrate the significance of building the Kingdom of God. How God has designed us way before we were born to be His 1) Fellow workers, 2) Field, 1st Cor 3:9
3) Building, Ps 132:13-14
Here are the rest of the verses:
Isa 28:16 (A Cornerstone in Zion)
1 Peter 4:2
John 17:4
Eph 2:10
Ps 139:16
Ecc 3:11
Ecc 3:14-15
Lastly, Dr John taught us on how we can find our calling with God. We can do it by:
1) Seeking him ernestly- Heb 11:6, Prov 20:5
2) Being planted in a local church- Ps 92:13
3) Not being entangled in worldly things ( things like fame and money)

Happiness is infectious
Happiness is contagious, spreading among friends, neighbors, siblings and spouses like the flu, according to a large study that for the first time shows how emotion can ripple through clusters of people who might not even know each other.
The study of more than 4,700 people, who were followed over 20 years, found that people who are happy or become happy boost the chances that someone they know will be happy. The power of happiness, moreover, can span another degree of separation, elevating the mood of that person's husband, wife, brother, sister, friend or next-door neighbour.
"You would think that your emotional state would depend on your own choices and actions and experience," said Nicholas Christakis, a medical sociologist at Harvard University who helped conduct the study published online Friday by BMJ, a British medical journal. "But it also depends on the choices and actions and experiences of other people, including people to whom you are not directly connected. Happiness is contagious."
One person's happiness can affect another's for up to a year, the researchers found, and while unhappiness can also spread from person to person, the "infectiousness" of that emotion appears to be far weaker.
The findings, Christakis and others said, provide striking new evidence of the power of social networks, which could have implications for public policy. Happy people tend to be better off in myriad ways, being more creative, productive and healthier.
"For a long time, we measured the health of a country by looking at its gross domestic product," said Fowler, a political scientist at UC San Diego, who co-authored the study. "But our work shows that whether a friend's friend is happy has more influence than a $5,000 raise. So at a time when we're facing such economic difficulties, the message could be, 'Hang in there. You still have your friends and family, and these are the people to rely on to be happy.
Editor's note: Happiness is bliss. What a great pleasure it is to be happy, stay happy and have happy thoughts always... Although sometimes in life, when things don't quite go our way or how when unexpected events catches us off-guard, we might tend to end up feeling low and not quite our joyful selves anymore. Hence, we might even feel tired of cheering ourselves up as well :(
Haha but like what the article says, happiness is infectious. I bet you used to think "but its my thoughts and my feelings, how can anyone change things around for me?" Friends, the truth is: its not always about you. Because if it were all about you, you will be a closed up person. Anti-social, get it? Lol.
Sometimes, happiness is dependent on the friends around you as well. Then you may say " but its my friends who are making me unhappy!" Haha, if they are really making you unhappy all the time, then maybe its time to seek other friends. Surely, you have more than a friend rite??? The presence of good friends is important as they do have a subconscious effect on your emotions and feelings :)
With all that said, here's me wishing all of you a happy happy new year. May this year bring you lots of happiness and prosperity in your lives.
