Sigh*, i'll try harder next time.
Anyway, here's what happened on sat. (for the benefit of those who missed the svc or for those who simply want to read it for entertainment XD)
As the saying goes " its not how well you start but how well you finish that counts."
Truly, that was how we ended our year...with a fantastic service at JW church!
ambience..............................................Just Right!
preaching by pst Kong..................................Great!
wd of God......................Perfect!
lighting(err..not really necessary)...... Gd!
X'mas record attendence and salvation decisions...........................Awesome!!!<Well done, ppl!>
Pastor Kong started preaching by sharing on 1 of the shortest verses found in the bible, Luke 17:32. In that verse, Jesus said "Remember Lot's wife." From reading the verse, i initially thought Pastor was going 2 preach on something very complex. Cos sometimes in life, man tends to make even the most simplest things in the world seem very complex. LOL
However, the same cannot be said of our dearest pastor. He is indeed a man after God's heart and will. He brought forth a simple yet captivating message to us, telling us not to look back at the past events of 2008.
Here are the four things that Pastor told us not to look back on:
- Old sins that God has already forgiven us for- Isa 43:25, Ps 103:12
- Old defeats that get you down- Ps 37:23-24
- Old conflicts that make you bitter-Prov 17:9
- Old and past victories- Phi3:13-14, Gen 41:51
I think this was by far, the shortest sermon i have ever heard. But like what i said earlier, it was captivating throughout. It was like going through a spiritual clensing experience during the svc and afterwards emerging out clean and spotless. Wow
My personal take is that that this msg will cause us to finish off the year strong and at peace. It will also set our paths right for the next year, that we will be ready to take on any future challenges =D
So 2009 here we come! W406 will stand even stronger and more united as before.
